About the password generator

How passwords are generated

Characters are chosen with crypto.getRandomValues, your browser’s cryptographically secure random number generator. Passwords are generated on your device and never sent anywhere.

What makes a password strong

Strength comes from length and randomness. Entropy is measured in bits: length × log₂(character set size). Aim for at least 80 bits. A random 16-character password using upper, lower, digits and symbols has about 105 bits.
