How the breakdown works
Your annual pay is divided by 12 months and 52 weeks. Day, hour, minute and second figures use working time: 260 working days of 8 hours, or 2,080 hours a year (40 hours × 52 weeks), so an hourly rate you enter comes back unchanged. The live ticker shows what you earn per working second since you opened the page.
Converting between currencies
Amounts are converted with current exchange rates so you can compare offers across countries. Remember to account for cost of living and local taxes, which vary widely.
Gross vs. net
Figures are gross (before tax) unless you enter a tax rate, in which case they show net pay. Your actual take-home pay depends on local income tax, social security and deductions.
